During the Premier Mandatory Miami Open in March 2015, when Badosa lost to 14th seed Karolina Pliskova, she made a breakthrough as an aggressive baseliner whose favorite stroke is her serve.
She qualified for the Madrid Open later that year and made it to the first round before losing to Sara Errani in the first round.
She lost in the quarterfinals of the 2018 Morocco Open against Aleksandra Krunic. In September of that year, she triumphed against fellow Spaniard Aliona Bolsova to win the $60,000 Open de Valencia tournament in Valencia, Spain.
