Tabilo qualified for his first major championship at the 2020 Australian Open in his first event of the year. After a first-round win against fellow qualifier Daniel Elahi Galán, he was knocked out in straight sets by American John Isner. His career-high rating of 172 was achieved during this run, which was his first appearance in the top 200.
As a wildcard, Tabilo competed in his home country’s 2020 Chile Open, where he beat Paolo Lorenzi in the initial round before dropping to Casper Ruud in the second.
