On April 4, 2024, Mark Wales has crowned the winner of Australian Survivor: Blood vs. Water. Chrissy Zaremba, Shay Lajoie,  Josh Millgate, and Mark began the episode as the final four, and Shay proceeded to win the lengthy and arduous final 4 immunity task.

Then, Josh was eliminated by a unanimous vote. Following this, the 10-person jury, Mark’s wife, questioned the last three contestants thoroughly, and the votes were read live on-air. What do we know, then? Mark wins with a vote count of 10-0-0.

It was only the second occasion in the record of Australian Survivor that a contestant garnered unanimous support. Pia Miranda defeated Baden Gilbert for the first time during season 6 (2019).

  • Mark Wales’s childhood ambition was to serve in the Australian army. After completing high school, Mark joined the Australian Defence Force Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and history in 1999. Thus, as of January 2019, Mark became an official member of the Australian army.
  • Mark has commanded thirty elite men in the battles of Afghanistan throughout his thirteen-and-a-half-year SAS career. His duty was reportedly to supervise combat missions against top enemy commanders deep behind enemy lines.
  • After leaving the military in 2012, Mark enrolled in the Wharton School and earned a master’s degree in business administration in 2014.
  • Later, Mark joined McKinsey & Company & worked there as a consultancy for more than three years until 2017. He launched The Younger Heroes (an organisation that reunites military parents with their children). Mark thought, however, that these professions lacked enthusiasm.
